Meet Magento UK 2025: Top 5 key takeaways

12th June 2025

The Meet Magento UK event (MMUK) this year was a buzzing hub for ecommerce professionals using the Adobe Commerce / Magento platforms. With presentations, demos, and thought-provoking discussions, here's a quick roundup of the 5 key takeaways we took from this year’s event:

1. Adobe's exciting new releases

Adobe unveiled some impressive updates, particularly around Adobe Storefront. Key features include a live content editor similar to Storyblok, enhanced A/B testing, GenAI tools for image variations, and automated test case creation - all designed to simplify content optimisation without heavy developer input.

2. Hyva's game-changing CMS and roadmap

We were lucky enough to see a private demo of Hyva’s new CMS, with its sleek and intuitive interface. The demo showcased powerful features like live editing, image optimisation, and a flexible content management system that promises to provide a more modern approach to content management systems in Magento. With a forward-looking roadmap, Hyva Commerce is rapidly positioning itself as a must-consider tool for any merchant using the Adobe Commerce platform.

3. The role of AI in ecommerce

AI was a major theme throughout the event, with participants sharing how they’re leveraging it in various ways. From improving manual data processing tasks to concerns about Google's AI-driven search results often offering inaccurate information, AI is both a tool of potential and a source of caution. It’s clear that while AI has enormous potential to streamline tasks, its application needs careful handling to avoid misinformation and errors.

4. A focus on optimisation

One recurring message from Adobe was clear: that brands should focus on optimisation. With budgets tightening, businesses are looking to make incremental improvements rather than embark on large-scale, groundbreaking projects. This calls for strategic thinking and continuous refinement to maximise the value of every site visitor.

5. Accessibility: A key industry focus

A compelling panel discussed the importance of accessibility in ecommerce, emphasising that disabled users could reject websites that don’t cater to their needs. The European Accessibility Act, which came into effect on June 28, 2025, was highlighted as a critical consideration for all businesses trading online. It is now the law to ensure your ecommerce site is catering to accessibility criteria as set out by this act. The conversation also touched on why real user data - such as Chrome's CrUX reports - provides more actionable insights. This was a reminder that inclusivity and performance go hand-in-hand.

Bonus Highlight: The power of community
It wasn’t all business at MMUK 2025! Attendees had the chance to connect with old colleagues, clients, and key industry players like Hyva, Mollie, and Yotpo. The event ended with a fun and laid-back session of ping pong at Bounce, a reminder that the Magento community’s strength lies in both collaboration and camaraderie.
