The Story So Far
LSA International is one of Europe’s leading brands of contemporary handmade glass and high quality porcelain, popular for their skilled craftsmanship and thoughtful, considered designs.
They came to us in Spring 2019 in need of an online store that reflected this visually, and was powerful enough to allow them to grow their brand at pace.
When LSA approached us, they needed to migrate from Magento 1 to Magento 2. The old website was dated and Magento 1 was coming to the end of its life, making it the perfect time to overhaul the platform and the brand online. But this wasn’t just a website makeover project, it was about putting LSA on the map again and making the website a destination.
One of LSA’s challenges was to get the word out that they don’t only sell via distributor sites - so they needed an outstanding D2C website to tell their brand story as well as make sales. When they came to us, their mobile site made up 34% of sessions but conversion rates lagged behind desktop and tablet. And even though orders were processed and shipped internationally, 84% of sales were from the UK - suggesting many customers didn’t realise international shipping was available.
Our focus was split into two key areas: immerse the customer into a journey led by storytelling and inspiration, and most importantly get across their USP - that, unlike other retailers, their entire range is fully handmade. We wanted to move them away from content-heavy pages that distracted from the main shopping journey, to a more integrated magazine style layout to showcase the craftsmanship involved in each piece.
In just a short turnaround between June and December, we delivered a full rebrand consisting of Art Direction and Concepts, UX and Wireframes and Responsive Mobile-First Page Designs. The final result is a stunning website with a new and improved look and user experience!
